In March 2011, Cynthia travelled to Ireland, renting a car and travelling around the entire republic, staying in country hotels and bed and breakfasts and visiting galleries and stately homes. She particularly enjoyed the traditional Irish music played in cosy pubs.

In September 2011, Cynthia attended The Decorating Centre (TDC)’s fifth annual Trade Day at the Royal Botanical Gardens. Together with two hundred of her colleagues, Cynthia enjoyed presentations by special guests Larry Laslo ( of New York and Yannick Simard, a design guest expert on CITY-TV’s City Line show. Over forty exhibitors displayed the latest products, providing an insight into new colours and styles.

Also in September, Cynthia attended IIDEX in Toronto and saw even more exhibitors showing the latest and greatest products.

Through September and October, Cynthia attended evening seminars by Dr. Francis Broun at Campbell House Museum in downtown Toronto. Each week Dr. Broun has given a lively presentation on two or more English stately homes, a favourite subject of Cynthia’s.

In October 2011, Cynthia was invited to participate in the ‘Table Tops For All Occasions’ event by The May Court Club of Oakville, in the south Atrium at Oakville Town Hall. Her table was a tribute to Tim Burton’s Nightmare Before Christmas.

To coincide with this event, Cynthia has relaunched her website to showcase photographs of her recent projects. To see more photos, go to and search on ‘Cynthia Taylor-Luce’.
